Internet packages on Galaxy

Can someone who has sailed in the Galaxy tell me if they have internet packages on that ship.

X is telling me they only have the $0.75 per min. deal with no price breaks for buying a package. I read they do have price breaks at http://www.celebrityatsea.com/index.aspx?value=6

Can someone who HAS BEEN ON THE GALAXY tell me the deal please.

I can't remember the exact cost for the plan but I do remember that instead of paying $.75 per minute you would pay $.70 a minute. It may have been that you had to buy 100 mins. in their plan but I am not sure. It didn't seem like that good of a deal to me! We found a great internet place in Costa Rica and another one in Grand Cayman.

I think this is the definitive answer from the Celebrity site:

INTERNET CHARGES

Minutes are available one by one at $.75 a minute.

Packages of 100, 200 and 500 minutes are available for $.70, $.60 and $.50 per minute, respectively. Additional minutes after the package is exhausted are at the package rate. Upon embarkation, see an Online@Celebrity staff member to determine which package is best for you.

Not much of a bargain unless you plan to be on the internet a lot on the ship. Even then 50 cents a minute seems pretty steep.

I need to use my laptop for about 90 min a day. I also don't want to carry it around port. I cant do my work on another computer.

We just returned from Galaxy last Monday. My husband needed to do the same for business and took his laptop. They were great in the lab about signing you up quickly to use the Wi-Fi which is only available in the Rendevous area. We bought the 200 min. package, but they will let you change the package according to how many min. you seem to be using along the way. I believe we paid $120 for the 200 min. If you are a Captain Club member you will get coupons in your cabin for some free min. which they applied to what we were using.

Hope this helps a bit.
