I was in Barcelona last year avant et après a Virgin Voyages cruise. I really enjoyed it. 
 

I will debark in Rome, one of my favorite cities, but I don’t think I’ll have time to linger. Likely fly back to the States on debarkation day.

We have always been satisfied with the Marriott in Brooklyn.   It is walking distance to DUMBO with many restaurants and beautiful views of Manhattan.   It is also substantially less expensive than Manhattan.  Short cab ride to Red Hook.

FYI, the proposed extra toll fee into Manhattan via the Congestion Pricing program has been scrapped. At least until after this Fall’s elections.
