few booking quetions on deposit and guarantee rooms

Recommended Posts

we are trying to get a cruise to Germany for next year--RC has a perfect one for sept of 25

so heres what Im up against-

even though its over a year away the ship seems to be pretty full already

the only oceanview are guarantee

first of all  IM thinking of booking the guarantee just so were on that cruise

but what are the chances that I keep checking and suddenly theres openings for a few rooms i can pick from

would I be  able to change our booking to one of those rooms I know Ill probably have to pay the difference

next what are the cancellation policy

so if I would book the gurnetee and say 6 months from now something comes up either a more fitting cruise or we just decided not to go

at what point do you start to lose the deposit

so if wed cancel 6 months or whatever from sailing will we get the deposit back

one more thing do cancellations come up espeically we people book so far a head

any other tips on rC to Germany please let me know

thanks

Royal doesnt necessarily show all available rooms per  my TA. Try putting in 1 pax and see if you see cabins that can be picked come up.

I also use a TA and only book refundable deposits with group rates that are a bit less to a lot less and totally refundable. I'm guessing you are looking at Nonrefundable rates. Usually up until final payment for $100 per person you can change to another cruise. If you arent booking another cruise, just cancelling you lose the entire deposit. I would check with whomever you book with.

You mention germany, but I dont see where you are leaving from and are you booking with a USA agent? There are some things we dont know to answer for sure. How long is the cruise? All you have mentioned is germany. UK for instance has a few different terms.

If its nonrefundable deposits ... that's something to be sure of. I stay away from those personally.
