The hike from our gate was oh so real

Customs/Security here, but not for us…. Not yet…

Up, down, over, around…. The hike continues

Then we came to a screeching halt. Line to scan boarding passes. But there wasn’t really any organization, people just kind of moving around and going wherever….

 

 

but this looks promising….

Yeah…. All “three” bags heading to our next flight 

[TxTeach79]

At this point, we got stuck in a monster slow moving line through security. Then another through customs. It was as poorly organized as you could imagine. People just butting ahead, not knowing where to go, standing there when multiple scanners were open. Chaotic. People begging to cut in line cause they’re about to miss their flight… which basically described all of us….

Got through with ten minutes to spare, but the hike wasn’t over yet. Far from it.

B got excited about this little macaron shop, we entered a big nicer section of the airport, so surely our gate would be here, right? RIGHT?

No. No it was not. Off to the dungeon with us. 
 

[TxTeach79]

In what felt like a subterranean bus station, we just made boarding…. 
 

[TxTeach79]

But we weren’t actually BOARDING boarding… we were boarding a bus

 

[TxTeach79]

After a - no kidding - 15 minute bus ride (I thought we might just be driving to Venice), we crossed the airfield where our chariot awaits

Now I’m caught up - we are LIVE

Captain says we have nine pieces onboard that belong to passengers who didn’t show, so by law we have to remove them. Should be a 10-15 minute delay.

Legroom? Comfort? UNMATCHED

Looks like another bus of passengers just got here. Filling in the empties.

Some things I forgot from earlier -

 

we respected the deadline

 

 

I chose airport wifi over poop

 

 

and this hanging crib for the baby across the aisle on the last flight was wild. I want that, but for me

Okay I’m choosing not to get stressed out by this inexplicable sudden movement

Doors closed. Looks like we’re pushing away soon! See ya in Venezia- hopefully with all our luggage and consciousness!

I almost forgot - watched the Iron Claw and Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning on the DFW-CDG leg. B watched Killers of the Flower Moon and One Love.
