Monkey land from Amber Cove on our own?

We have never been to Amber Cove or PP.  Two of our four grandkids would very much like to go to see the Monkeys. I know they will want to spend some time at the pool, and zipline, etc. How long should we allow for travel and the visiting Monkey Land?   Could someone advise the best way for us to take the kids?  Should we take a cab?  If so, are cabs available easily for return?  How about a public bus?  We have taken public buses in other ports, with no issues; although, I do understand that this is not always advisable. Also, time would be a factor with a public bus, as well.  I will await your kind suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
