pauly Posted June 25 #1 Share Posted June 25 We will be in Tortola in December arriving at 7 am and leaving at 2:30. Can we get to a quick beach trip? We have been to the Baths. We would love to find someplace with loungers and an umbrella to rent. My fear is getting dropped off at a beach and being stranded with no way to get back. Especially with that early departure. Any and all ideas are welcome. THANKS!
blue_water Posted June 26 #2 Share Posted June 26 Yes you have two beach options with amenities, and no worries in getting back on time. Cane Garden Bay is the main beach destination for day visitors. That’s because CGB is a large bay home to multiple beach bars/restaurants, lounge & umbrella rentals, and public restrooms. Safari taxis drop off many of your fellow passengers there and return to pick them up for their return. Think large groups and a busier vibe… Brewers Bay is home to one beach bar (Nicole’s), one restroom, and lounges to use or rent. No umbrellas needed with the natural shade. Think of that “Old Caribbean” beach feel. Your driver will return for you and others enjoying that beach. Another option is Long Bay, Beef Island on the east end of the island. Similar amenities to CGB except on a smaller scale. One benefit of this beach option is the ride there and back is quite flat, while the ride over the spine of the island to the north beaches of CGB and Brewers involved very steep and winding roads… No problem with taxis there either. many of your fellow passengers will be taking the ship excursion to one of these beaches, but going on your own is much better. You are not tied to a group, and the transportation is very reliable 1

Thanks so much for the information! Edited July 4 by pauly
blue_water Posted July 4 #4 Share Posted July 4 Taxis will be lined up waiting to whisk passengers to CGB and other areas. A taxi coordinator and the drivers will direct you to a shared safari taxi going to CGB. Because it is a shared taxi, you will pay the lowest fare, $12/pp each way. Taxis will line up at CGB to return you to the pier…
