New reusable water bottles - any good?

Are the new green water bottles any good?  We are packing for our upcoming cruise and wondering if we should bring our water bottles we use at home. The ones we use daily keep the water cool all day with no sweating.  Are the bottles provided onboard good quality and are they insulated?  We're just wondering if we should bring our water bottles or not.  Every bit of space in the luggage helps.  TIA!

I’m looking at mine now. They appear the exact same as the last blue(?) ones. Stainless steel, wood cap and single wall I believe.  I feel like they do a good job insulating plus they aren’t very big so I’d imagine the beverage would be long gone before it got undrinkable.

My husband says his green bottle kept the water cold without sweating on our 10 day cruise last month. It was very port-intensive so he used it a lot, and as gcornell says, they are a convenient size. Our only really hot excursions were in Seville, but he thought it held up well even there. Hopefully you will have the same good experience with them. Enjoy your cruise!

I agree that the water bottles seem to be excellent quality, and if I hadn't had more than enough of my own at home I would have been tempted to take home the ones I had on my past two cruises. Maybe they assume everyone will.

Because I was a bit surprised when at dinner with a senior officer I asked how they cleaned them for the next pax and was told that they don't, they throw them away.

I do not know if this is actually true.

However, if it is, it makes a bit of a mockery of the idea that these bottles are used to cut down on (admittedly plastic) waste.

LOL that's hilarious if that's the case! This change had nothing to do with A. "saving the planet" and everything to do with B. clearing the debt. I will never forget my embarrassing encounter in St Baths waiting for the tender. I innocently went to take a cup of iced water from the table before realising the table with fruit, juice, cold water and cookies in fact was for Seadream tender guests moored nearby. The fact I've never seen any refreshments being given at a tender point proves to me beyond any doubt B. was the answer. Quite incredible not to be able to get a refreshment while you wait up to an hour before you can depart for the ship. As I keep saying "its the little things" that was always good to see, which unfortunately are vanishing and becoming a big thing! Just my opinion of course.

We were very pleased with how well these bottles kept our water cold. Before going ashore, we filled them with ice and added cold water. They kept the water cold long after our excursions were over, even until the next day!
