Seattle Heat Advisory 7/7-7/9 Royal Quantum & Carnival Spirit

Recommended Posts

Passengers on 7/8/24 Royal Quantum and 7/9/24 Carnival Spirit should be advised that Seattle will experiencing weather temperatures in the upper 80's and low 90's.  While many of our passengers are from areas of the US that experience this type of temperature, it is uncommon in the PNW.  Please be prepared to stay hydrated, and dress for the warm weather, and use sunscreen.  Most of the outside waiting area is undercover, but the shade does shift depending on the position of the sun.

Please have your boarding passes and travel documents ready to show so staff can get you inside the cooler terminal building as quickly as possible.

Carnival passengers need to have paper copies of their boarding pass (it can be printed at the pier, but best to arrive with it already printed)

Carnival ONLY passengers - please remember that Carnival Corp does not allow bottled water or soda to be brought on to their ships.  Soda in cans are allowed, as well as water in sealed cartons.  Carnival passengers will have to discard or empty bottled beverages once they arrive at the security screening on the second floor of the terminal.  Carnival also doesn't allow flowers to be brought on to their Alaska bound ships.

Stay cool and hydrated.

To add to Ferry_Watcher’s smart advice - because of how north Seattle is, the sun is a lot more intense than what you might be used to- don’t be fooled that it’s “only” 85. Case in point- I had a work trip to Singapore last month and while the heat index was 105 there, because I was close to the equator, the sun did not feel like it does here today. Wear sunscreen and stay shaded as much as possible!
