Ovation cruises being cancelled August/September 2025. ☹️☹️

Recommended Posts

Our 20 night cruise starting September 19th next year is now 19 nights, missing two ports. Found out from a FB group that the 2 cruises before ours have been cancelled. Charters happening?

Yes. We were on the 20 day cruise starting 9th September and heard yesterday we were cancelled. We quickly rebooked on your voyage, but they haven’t told us yet about the two dropped ports and the later (20th) departure, but I can see the new itinerary in my Seabourn account.

Are they giving you a discount for the lost day and ports?

Yes, refund for the lost day and some onboard credit as an apology.

We got our money back plus 10% off any future cruise. This is a poor offer, since prices have gone up more than 10% since we booked! Oh for the old pre-Royal Caribbean Seabourn......

I think you mean pre-Carnival, which in other words is pre-2001.  A lot has changed since 2001.

Seabourn pulled a similar stunt with our Soujourn cruise (spring of 2025) which was a booking of over 40 days.  They simply chartered one of the segments (in the middle of our cruise) and cancelled all their loyal customers to accommodate a charter group.  Like what happened to you, they only offered a 10% future cruise credit.  Considering that our booking had been done onboard during a good promotion, and prices have since increased (across the board), that 10% meant we essentially lost thousands of dollars with a future booking.

It has soured us on booking Seabourn, more than a few months in advance.  This company no longer gives a hoot about their customers and seems to have no problem selling cruises out from under booked cruisers.  The problem is when we make a commitment to Seabourn we forgo other travel opportunities.  Once Seabourn decides to cancel, we have missed out on other good opportunities.  Put simply, we get penalized, financially, for dealing with Seabourn.
