If it's QM2 note that deck 3 Oceanview has some not easy to avoid steps from the D lift. So only select that if the banished husband is fully mobile. Deck 2 isn't on a sub level so that's easier from both ends.

We ended up booking a QG stateroom, plus an inside a few doors away. Our low-cost online travel agency rep said “okay, I linked them.”  But myCunard only reflected dining arrangements linked which is, of course, nonsense.

I was still concerned about getting an unwelcome surprise at check-in, so I sent an email to Cunard asking to verify that everything was correctly done.  I half expected to be told to go away and ask our TA.  Quite impressed to receive this response in 30 minutes:

Dear Mrs. and Mr. ****:

Thank you for your inquiry. Your two bookings are made correctly and are shown with a traveling with dining code just to cross reference them. You will both be dining with us in the Queens Grill and using the interior stateroom as a bedroom only.

I will copy in our On Board Services, Dept. so that we may notify our staff on board to advise that the interior stateroom is for sleeping purposes only.

Most Sincerely,

*****
