Taxi from Barcelona port to airport

Thank you in advance for the good advice Cruise Critic pals always share.  We will disembark in Barcelona from the Malta, Med, Morocco cruise in March and fly home the same day.  We made our own flight reservations—-departing about 11 am.   I know we can book a ship’s transfer but prefer to walk off the ship and grab a taxi. (There are four of us). Should this be easy to do?  Are there taxi stands in the port area?

Yes!  We went to a hotel rather than the airport and booked a car because we didn’t really know what to expect.  We laughed when we got through the terminal and saw all the taxis.

Yes, there are a lot of taxis parked right outside the terminal. Shouldn't be a problem at all. But I would get off the ship ASAP and head out. The drive is about 20 minutes but getting through the airport to your gate will take a little time. We flew out on a Sunday and got there around 8 a.m. It took us probably an hour to get our luggage checked (and our line was one of the shorter ones), and then the 2 security checkpoints.

Depending on the amount of luggage you have, you might need to take 2 taxis rather than one.  Getting one outside the terminal was very easy.
