French Onion Soup

Do you think if the soup were exactly the same as in the MDR the executive sous chef would admit that in front of the passengers? Why should they then go to pay extra for the speciality restaurants ?

Having eaten all three multiple times, I can assure you they are not the same.

I never said they are. I just said that IF they are the same the sous chef would most likely not admit it.

I am in Cagney’s now and it doesn’t even state it is French Onion soup. It is baked onion soup.

If it’s not from the onion region of France legally they have to call it sparkling broth.

Absolutely! I don’t even know how they can call the soup they serve in the main dinning room “French Onion Soup” because it’s not. They just throw some kind of cheese disk on top of a bowl of soup.

Cagney’s and Le Bistro both have excellent French Onin Soup with real melted cheese on top 😋

On the Bliss in the Haven restaurant in June the French onion was crazy salty.  In Le Bistro it was still too salty but not anywhere near as bad as it was in the Haven . . .
