There are some more current menus posted around here somewhere, you can probably do a search... not much has changed, but it is a different menu than posted above. It is fabulous!!!!!!! :D The food in the dining room doesn't come close... YUM!! The atmosphere and service are suberb!!
bellazoemom Posted March 29, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Is it like the dining room where you can order as much as you want of whatever you want? Like 2 entrees, or more than 1 dessert??
bellazoemom Posted March 29, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Also, is there music, dancing or entertainment?
Donna Pearl Posted March 29, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2006 We went a year ago today as a matter of fact. It was our neighbors birthday. You will LOVE it, great menu as Derf has shown, well worth the xtra money. Our dinner took about 2 and a half hours, including dancing. The wait staff (we had about 4 people working our table of 6) were great and very attentive. The dessert they gave my neighbor for his birthday was a little (very little) brownie, nicely decorated though.
Donna Pearl Posted March 29, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Yes, and yes. The night we were there they had a piano player and a singer. You can order multiple entrées, but the courses are spread out over time and you really fill up with one. Go and enjoy. Is there a similar restaurant on the Glory? We are going in July! vesw01 Posted March 29, 2006 #9 Share Posted March 29, 2006 I just read that at Scarletts on the Valor you couldn't order multiple entrees or desserts.
GoinCruisin Posted March 29, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 29, 2006 You cannot order multiple entrees. It is $30 PER entree. You can sometimes sweet talk someone into letting you have two apps, but they are not supposed to . These are very nice sized helpings... after this meal, you will be very satisfied. i cannot even imagine eating 2 of those entrees! LOL!! Yes, there is a piano player and singer... and some people dance. These restaurants are on Conquest and Spirit class ships.
GoinCruisin Posted March 29, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 29, 2006 can you book before you trip? No... just book once onboard, they can fill up quick, so just go by N&N's when you get on the ship, that way you can pick out your table :D
vesw01 Posted March 29, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 29, 2006 I am just curious, GoinCruisin what do you do for a living? You have such great advise. I also noticed that you are going on a couple of cruises all near each other in dates.... I wish I had that much time off :)

I also noticed that you are going on a couple of cruises all near each other in dates.... I wish I had that much time off :) LOL, we have a Systems Integration/Managed Services practice... nothing to do with the travel industry, LOL!!! Thanks to the advances in technology, I can still do just about everything from the ship that I need to do... so it affords me a little more time off... but I am becoming obsessed, and that's not a good thing! LOL!!!!!! :D
beansatw Posted March 29, 2006 #14 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Is Nick and Nora's worth the extra money? I mean..the food in the dining room is good..why pay for N&N? Is there something I am not aware of? I want to do something special for my dh for his birthday onboard...and am not sure this is it..but don't want to miss out if it is something really special. Pls ..someone give the my real scoop:) For us, N&N was definitely worth the money. I just happen to live in a part of the country that is...how do I say this politely?...culinarily stunted. Seriously - the locals think the buffet at the casino is fine dining. :D So it was worth every cent to spend 3 hours sitting across from my lovely bride, enjoying 5-star dining. The staff will take very good care of you, the singer and piano player are perfect, and the food? I promise you won't go away hungry. Enjoy! vesw01 Posted March 29, 2006 #15 Share Posted March 29, 2006 I can't wait to try Scarlett's. I wasn't big on getting to the ship and to be the first on board, but now I need a cheat sheet and a quick map so I can get to all the places early to make appts. I need to go to Scarletts for dinner reservations to the spa for an up-do appt - just cause I figure one fancy night when you have 5 kids is worth the extra money. We are trying to keep the actual cruise expense down so we can splurge on the other things that I wouldn't normally do.

You can order multiple entrées, but the courses are spread out over time and you really fill up with one. Go and enjoy. Is there a similar restaurant on the Glory? We are going in July! You cannot order multiple entrees unless your waitstaff was feeling especially generous that night. One appetizer, one entree, one dessert. The portions for the entrees are so huge that you only need one. I could have licked my plate after finishing off the Porterhouse...SOOOO GOOOD! Well worth it. Easily a $200 meal at any fine restaurant that (at the time) we paid $25 each for. We danced, we ate, we enjoyed the atmosphere. Lovely! doodlefan Posted March 29, 2006 #17 Share Posted March 29, 2006 Bellazoemom We loved Nick and Nora's. We were on the miracle when she was only 3 weeks old and this meal was fabulous. As mentioned it is truly upscale dining at it's best. We chose our cuts of meat, they made the salad right there for us. They brought out little tidbits for us to try that we hadn't ordered. It was a very leisurely romantic dinner. We were brought at least 3 different items, little tasters, compliments of the chef. It was a nice touch. When we were done, they brought us a platter of fruit, mostly strawberries dipped in chocolate also compliments of the chef and this was AFTER dessert. We were wonderfully stuffed. There certainly is no reason to order 2 entrees. Once you go through all the courses it is way more than enough. I would book as soon as you get on the ship. We went up the see through stair case (loved it even though it freaked me out a bit) and booked as soon as we got on, which was later in the afternoon and it was totally booked already for the night we wanted but we did get another night. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Doodlefan:D
Nicole721 Posted March 30, 2006 #18 Share Posted March 30, 2006 Definitely worth it...if for nothing else...the trio of Chocolate desserts! The night we went, we were the only ones there and it was a very nice experience :)

But even if you could I don't think you would;) The portions are huge!!! I had the 24 oz porterhouse. It was awesome. Dessert??? No room for me.... I was stuffed!!! I couldn't even finish my Margarita:eek:  We went to bed early that night....
AppleValleyCruisers Posted March 30, 2006 #20 Share Posted March 30, 2006 I will have to play the devil's advocate here, and say we didn't feel the quality of the food over what one gets in the main dining room justified an extra charge. The S & T was basically bland, bordering on tasteless, and the Trio of Escargot did nothing for me. IMO, the food was better in the dining room. Now, if you are talking ambiance, then yes. It was very nice, relaxing and unhurried. In fact, we were the only ones at N & N's when we went, but that could be because it was the first formal night (?) That said, it is very possible we hit an "off" night, as Chris and others have been there more than once, and say they love it.
Sablerose Posted March 30, 2006 #21 Share Posted March 30, 2006 We loved the atmosphere at The Point on the Conquest, and found the food to be outstanding. The service was over-the-top and really made us feel fancy-schmancy. Hubby got dressed up in his military blues (although it wasn't a formal night) and I wore slacks and a sparkly sweater. We each had a salad, soup, an appetizer and an entree for the $30 fee. We also got a bottle of wine, and the wine list was slightly more upscale than that available in the regular dining room. We found everything about the evening to be outstanding; maybe next time I will get Stang to dance.
CruisinRin Posted March 30, 2006 #22 Share Posted March 30, 2006 Oh, its definately worth it! My husband and I had a fantastic meal there! You will definately get enough food to fill you up. My advice is to check out the menu for the regular dining room online and pick out one or two days that have weak menus, so you go onboard prepared! Enjoy the Miracle! Cheers, Corinne
AlbertaClipper Posted March 30, 2006 #23 Share Posted March 30, 2006 For us, Nick & Nora's was not worth the extra coinage. The lobster was a touch on the rubbery side and we had about 5 or 6 helpers. Too distracting and the food was not much different than the regular meals. There were only about 5 other occupied tables when we were there. We like Carnival, we like the food, but felt Nick & Nora's was not up to the standards we expected. We have eaten on Disney at Palo's which is the same idea and did think it was deserving of the extra charge.
Caliber1 Posted March 31, 2006 #24 Share Posted March 31, 2006 Does the menu change every night or remain the same? Just wondering if there was one night better than another. Where can I see the regular dining room menu for the week. Sailing in May.
