A few more newbie questions

Recommended Posts

I'm sailing on my first cruise on the Sovereign on April 24. You all were so helpful before I'm coming back for more!

Where should I go after embarkation to make dining arrangements? Also, I can't seem to find any info on specialty dining. Does Sov have that? Speaking of food is there a midnight buffet and is it real food or just desserts? Okay I'm not normally this hung up on food I swear!!:o

P.S. Got my hubby's suit this weekend and he looked smokin' hot!! Now it's my turn to shop!:p

If you are referring to specialty restaurant reservations, you should go straight to the particular restaurant you are interested in and make your reservation soon after you board so you will have your choice of times.

I have not sailed on the Sovereign, but most if not all ships have at least one midnight buffet on a 7 night sailing. Yes, there is real food at the buffer, but mainly higher end finger foods...the desserts are decadent.

On our AOS cruise there was a midnight buffet on the pool deck one night that had great BBQ fare, like chicken and ribs.

Sorry, but there is no specialty dining (Chops, Portofino, etc.) on Sovereign. (Unless you count Johnny Rockets ;))

They held a midnight chocolate buffet on our 4-day in September, but it was so crowded we skipped it, so I can't tell you what they had available.

For dining arrangements, go directly to the lower level dining room after embarkation. Someone will be there to assist you.

Enjoy your cruise!

We went to the head waiter on deck 4 dining room as soon as we boarded the ship. Within 10 minutes, we had a table for 2 by a window for second seating.

There are no specialty restaurants on the Sovereign other than Johnny Rockets.

The 3 day has a midnight buffet the night you are in Nassau by the pool, it has barbeque items and some great desserts.

I went to the chocolate midnight buffet and it is very crowded....you will stand in line for a long time unless you get there early...and don't go to late because there will be nothing left...They have stuff like chocolate covered bananas and just anything chocolate...I never saw this because I was at Senor Frogs until almost time to leave Nassau but my mom said they had another buffet that night...It was Caribbean food or something....And like the others say, just go to the dining room to make arrangments with seating....And don't worry about food because there is plenty to eat!!:o
