and now for something completely different......

 

After having cruised on this floating gay ghetto called Atlantis I have now booked a short Hurtigruten trip along the Norwegian coast . A 4 day voyage on the M/S Richard With.

On my birthday we will fly to Ålesund and stay overnight there. We will board the ship the next morning. That day there is also another little obsure ship in town called QM2 ;-)

So first we spend the day in the mighty Geirangerfjord. The second day we are in Trondheim and sail up north to Rørvik. The third day pass the Arctic Circle, Bodø and Lofoten in the evening.

After a midnight passage of Trollfjord we arrive on May 16th in Tromsø. from there on a flight back to Oslo in order to celebrate 17th May (the Norwegian national day) in Oslo.

 

I really look forward to this. :)

Sailed the full 11 day round trip Bergen on the Trollfjord last year. Great scenery and fabulous food. Mostly German clientelle. The three new ships are much grander and provide much better viewing because of the full double decker glass observation lounge up front.

I was amazed that there was literally no security from port to port. The ship announced when it would depart and expected you to be there. You could just get on and off the ship at will everywhere. Just like the good old days.
