jonsurg Posted April 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2006 We actually find it easier with the kids and all to eat earlier rather than later and usually will eat at about 5:30-6 when on vacation. Do we need to make bookings if we are intending to eat at that time. If we do need to make bookings which restaurants are most popular and require bookings Thanks Chris
shoreguy Posted April 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Bookings are never required except for the specialty resturants - bistro, cagney's, Salsa, etc. You should have no trouble being seated in any one the 3 main dinning rooms at 5:30. It is funny to see folks line up at five to be the first in each night:)
Cinnamon Seahorse Posted April 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2006 We dined at Aqua one night at 5:30, and found the service much more attentive because there were fewer passengers at that time. I highly recommend it! Carla
newmexicoNita Posted April 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2006 5:30 to 6:00 should present no problems. If you are planning on attending any of the specialty restaurants, no matter what time, please do make reservations. NMNita

jaxon41 Posted April 3, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Hubby came home the other day to report that he had been told by a recent NCL (Hawaii) traveler that she hated freestlye because she was never able to get a seat at a restaurant and always ended up eating at the buffet(?) -- do they have one of those at night? Can you make reservations at the restaurants which don't charge extra? Are some less busy than others? Which are the ones included in the price of your booking? ( I know Cagney's and Bistro are extra) Does NCL have two shows a night like standard cruisings if you eat late or early, you can always catch a show? How late are the resturants open -- we are used to late seating -- so how are the restaurants at around 8:30? I generally dress for dinner, so sure as heck don't want to tote nicer clothes only to eat at a buffet, and hubby is negative on paying extra for food as he considers cruising to be all inclusive. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to keep hubby happy will be appreciated.
