sailorsoon Posted April 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2006 Has anyone sailed on a Princess cruise (STAR etc)in a cabin on ALOHA deck, center ship, UNDER THE POOL? Can you hear chairs moving late at night or early in the morning? I am looking at interior cabins 300's and 400's and balcony cabins near this area. Can you hear pool pumps? I really like the location of these cabins and would love to hear from anyone with experience in this area. Are the balconies on the ALOHA deck, OK ? Also, where are your FAVORITE CABINS? Does anyone know of a cabin with a little something extra than others in the same catagory? Thanks so much!
Marie-Claude Posted April 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2006 I was in Cabin A316 (interior) on the Golden - we did hear noise, coming mostly from water movement in rough seas. It was a deep soung. I guess the chairs were further back as this didn't bother us. It was nothing too disturbing. THe location WAS GREAT as it was only one flight of stairs to the pool... very convenient! lansingisland Posted April 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2006 We were on the Diamond, don't remember the cabin, but it was right below the pool and the scraping of the deck chairs was unbearable, especially in the morning when I assume the staff was readying the decks. TMull Posted April 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2006 On the Golden, I was surprised that there were cabins directly below the work-out room. Must have been nice having a bunch of free weights (barbells, dumbells) dropped on your head at 7 AM!
Gingee Posted April 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2006 Talk about noise. We were under a deck that was a walking/running deck. Oh my gosh. We tried to take a afternoon nap and even tried sleeping late in the morning and we could hear one person going around and around and around. Sounded like a elephant coming each time. This was on the Sovereign.
Momj47 Posted April 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2006 I was in cabin A405 last summer on an Alaskan cruise and it was very quiet. I was under the pool and next to the kitchen. Granted, there wasn't a lot of pool use on the cruise. I would not choose an inside cabin again. My DD and SIL were in A403, the balcony wasn't great for viewing except straight out because of the overhang and a fire station just above. It must have been loud and non stop. Oh No.. Marie-Claude,I thought the location was good for the same reasons! MOMJ47 Was the pool used at all? I wondered if the overhang on the Aloha would restrict viewing. Thanks all!
Marie-Claude Posted April 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2006 I have to admit, that while it was easy to get to the pool area from this location, I didn't particularly like the inside cabin - so we didn't spend a lot of time in our cabin (maybe that's why the noise didn't bother us... )! My favorite spot for afternoon relaxation was in the conservatory - the mezzanine area above the indoor pool! We always found big cushioned comfortable chairs to read and snooze a little. It was great!
