TravelWorks Posted April 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2006 We are a group that travels together every year.... I have 30 friends and family between 5 years old and 50 and we are all snorkelers (even the children) and active people...I wanted to book with Paddles...but they have a 7 year old age limit... Everyone has there own snorkels and the little ones have there own life jackets too... Does anyone know of a good private tour operator that can handle just our group??? I don't want to have to find taxis on the dock for 30 people...I need everything pre-arranged... Antigua is new to us...so we are really looking for advice at this stop... Thanks so much in advance. Frequent Floater Posted April 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2006 I also have a group that travels together usually cruises every year. I am the group leader that reseaches to death what is the best thing to do on each island. We just returned from the Liberty April 1 sailing that ported in Antigua. I had set up a day of rest and relaxation on Prickly Pear Island. This is different as all you do is relax on you own small island, being served my Miguel and his hard working family. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas that they allow you to place either on the sand or in the water. Terrance digs a hole for the umbrella so it stays put unless you decide you want to move it, then he will do that for you. The family had set up the open bar in a primitive bar area with plenty of libation for all drinkers or not. We were treated to lots of baked goods brought to us on trays throughout the day. Lunch is included and was really very good. Fish, Chicken, lobster salad, potato salad, conch soup, green salad and more. Let me know if this is something you would want more info on. I highly recommend this family and what they offer for a really great day of fun instead of the hussle bussle tours. If your group is going to St. Thomas and Tortola I can also give you info on other great tour companies. rdonte@cox.net

Amy I would try Lawrence of Antigua. He has a new big Bus and his prices are real good. He will be waiting for you at the dock in his colorfully vest. So you can't miss him. He will take your group on a tour you won't forget. There is a great beach stop were the snorkeling is awesome. There is also a restaurant, locals selling there wares and a changing area. You can contact him at lawrenceofantigua@aol.com Just tell him Grumpy recommended him to you. We always have a great time when we use him. You won't be dissapointed.:D

flcruzer Posted May 4, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 4, 2006 See my review which I just posted today under April 12th prickly pear island, I am not sure if Terrence can accomodate 30 people but its well worth it if he can! I am sure he would do it for less $$$ with that many people, we were only 4.
Leston Posted May 5, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 5, 2006 Simply follow Lawrence of Antigua instruction as to how to meet him on arrival (1) He will have his name at the top of a display sign, then your name will be on display. (2) You cannot miss the multi color vest. (3) You just always have to keep walking straight to meet him about a five minutes walking from the cruise ship. Please be aware of the imposter, he will be wareing a green name tag with the name Lawrence on display , he has gray hair, and you will always see him before you see Lawrence of Antigua straight ahead with your name on display.
