Norwegian Star Daily Activites on Board

Don't know if it's just me, but not much that I can find on the boards about things to do onboard the Star during the day.

We are going in May to Alaska and I know that a lot of time will be spent looking at the glaciers etc., but just wondering what else they have to do other than the spa and eating like some of the other lines I've been on before CCL and RCCL.

Thanks,

Marcy

I figure it is the same line-wide: On Dawn, during day - Shuffleboard contests, dance lessons (ballroom), Philapeno Lessons, German Lessons, French Lessons, Towel Folding Demonstration, Movie about the engine room and bridge, Crafts classes, Putt Putt competitions, Pool Games, Bingo..... and the list goes on, that is just the stuff I remember off the top of my head. Sometimes there were 3 - 4 activities at a time I wanted to go to, difficult to choose.... Art Auction, Port information seminars.... You get the point. :D

Most of the trivia games are designed to last 30 minutes, perhaps a few minutes longer if things get a little raucous or disorganized (e.g., the trivia participants constantly interrupt the trivia moderator).

The other replies have pretty well covered your question, but I wanted to add that on the Spirit last September there were 2 digital photography classes. Very informative and full of tidbits to remember. I am hoping they offer something similar on the Star in June!

Have fun!

Is it just one game a day? Prizes?

Thanks!

There is often a morning trivia session in addition to the evening contest. Typical prizes include: beach ball, tote bag, umbrella, photo album, keychain, frisbee, drink cozy - all NCL logo items.

Yesterday I bought my first Digital Camera and a class on Star next week would be AWESOME!

It is a Panisonic Linux DMC-FZ30...Anyone else have this model?

There were 2 different classes, both on the at sea days, in the morning. The first one covered all kinds of things that would be fairly universal to most digital cameras. Settings, how to get the best pictures, lighting, etc. The second class was how to make your pictures even better once you get them onto your computer. Both were very good classes.

As far as the Alaska itineraries, there is usually at least one talk with a movie about the glaciers. Beyond that, I don't know how/if the activities differ between the itineraries. I'm sure there must be some difference since the itineraries vary quite a bit in temp!

What paart of Seattle do you live in?

I moved from Seattle to Vegas 4 years ago today! I lived on Queen Anne, First Hill, Capital Hill, Wallingford and a couple of other neighborhoods within King County.
