St Thomas Taxi Help

My Wife and I are Cruising to St Thomas the first of May. This will be our first visit to this island. We were thinking of catching a taxi to a beach Like Coki or Sapphire for a beach break. Is it hard to find a taxi back to the ship or into town under the beach?

Taxis are at all beaches to return passengers to the ships. If the beach is at a hotel like Saphire the hotel desk will always call one for you. No worries. You can also ask your driver to pick you up at a specific time to return you to the ship.

Enjoy:) B.

Taxi's abound at both.

We've done both. At Coki, we also went to Coaral World. It was out first time to St. Thomas. When we stopped there on the Volendam cruise, we went to Sapphire.

They are both very different from each other.

Coki is smaller, there are vendors in little huts on the beach. Sapphire is a resort. You can rent beach chairs, I think they were $4.00 each. You can snorkel off the beach at both. Either will make a nice beach day.

Here is a good source for info on Taxi Service on St. Thomas-

Have a fun trip!

CrusieGuy, rather than just take a taxi to the beach, why not take an island tour with beach stop? Most drivers will drive you around for about 1 1/2 hours to most of the hot spots, then drop you off at a beach (they might give you a choice of beach), and then pick you up about 2 hours later and bring you either back to the ship or to town so you can shop. The total cost is about $25 pp, whereas taxis to most beaches is $8 to $10 pp each way. Most of the taxis at the dock will give you this tour (just ask), or you can reserve with one of the guys that is recommended on this forum.
