Can you charge casino chips?

We are sailing on the Golden this summer. I was wondering if you could charge your casino chips on credit card and then turn them in later for cash????? Thanks.

yes, but if I remember correctly there is a 3% surcharge.

Yes you can, and yes there is a charge. Royal and Celebrity do not hit you with a surcharge for Casino chips. One of the very few things I did not like about Princess.

If you've pre-registered your credit card for Express Check-Out, you can obtain chips and tokens in the casino limited to $1500 USD per day, up to a total limit of $5000 USD per cruise. There is a 3% processing fee.

Or do they see it as a purchase anyone know that?

It is considered a purchase, since it gets charged to your room account, not your credit card directly. So you can accumalate reward points on the cash advance if the 3% surcharge is worth it.
