I am going on the Carnival Liberty out of Rome on May 19th. We are staying in Rome for 2 nights after the cruise. The ship schedule says it returns at 8:00 am to Citavecchia. Anyone have experience as to when you are actually off the ship with luggage in hand to leave? I need to schedule the taxi to pick us up but I am not sure what time. Is it better to schedule one before the cruise or are there enough around to take us into Rome to our hotel? I just hate to schedule the taxi and get out early and have to wait-wastes precious time in Rome!

We hired a private driver for July. He said he would pick us up between 8 :30 and 8:45 am. He says that is the usual...before 9 am.

Some people with early flights have said that they have been off by 5 or 6 am, when it was still dark!

Can anybody confirm these times ?
