Is it generally cheaper to book thru AAA or directly with cruiseline (RCCL) or about the same?

Is there any advantages booking directly with cruiseline than AAA?

If you book air with your cruise, can you remove it later?

If you book with AAA, can you make payments when you want to?

Can you purchase a card for alcoholic drinks like you can a soda card? Do they have a combined one?

Is it generally cheaper to book thru AAA or directly with cruiseline (RCCL)

or about the same?

You can compare prices between the two. AAA may have special offers that the cruiseline does not for their members. If this is your first cruise a good agent will be able to explain everything to you also. Cruiselines don't have all that much time to spend with the customers.

Is there any advantages booking directly with cruiseline than AAA?

Not really. Your agent at AAA should be able to handle all of your questions for you.

If you book air with your cruise, can you remove it later?

In the past, yes. but check with woever you reserve your cruise with.

If you book with AAA, can you make payments when you want to?

Yes, after the required deposit is made, payments can be made in installments prior to final payment

Can you purchase a card for alcoholic drinks like you can a soda card? Do they have a combined one?

The only card you can purchase is the soda card, although I have read that one cruiseline offers a wine and beer card for beverages only at dinner.

You can check the airline prices verses the cruiseline prices....AAA can do that for you also. Best thing to do if you book your own is try to fly in the day before, so you won't have to worry the day of sailing. If you book your own be sure to book flights that will get you there in plenty of time and depart after noon (for most ships). You can also purchase the airport transfers from the cruiseline even if you book you own air. 3rd 4th and 5th pax are charged additional, but at a discounted rate. They also must pay port charges and taxes.

Is it generally cheaper to book the airfare yourself?

Depends on where you are coming from and when you are flying. Best recommendation I have is to book cruise air when you first book and then look around to see if you can find less expensive air on your own (remember to figure in the cost of transfers to the ship). If you do find less expensive air on your own, then cancel the cruise air before final payment.

When booking 2 rooms or a suite, do you get a discount for the 3rd, 4th & 5th passenger?

Depends on the time of year and the cruise line. For example, Royal Caribbean is currently running a special for 3rd and 4th passengers in rooms. But frequently during the summer months when everybody wants to cruise, the 3rd and 4th passenger rates can be just as expensive as 1st and 2nd passenger in a room.

The best thing you can do is get a lot of quotes. Price having 2 people in 2 rooms, versus 4 people in one room, etc.
