Klondike Cruise meal plan

We are going on Holland America Klondike Cruise in July . There will be a total of 7 of us going. I am wondering if anyone can give some detail about the optional $220 meal plan. It seems a little pricey. We are taking our parents on cruise and want it to be seemless but don't want to be taken advantage of. If anyone knows or has used please respond. Thank You
