Guarantee on QE2 world cruise segment?

Can anyone tell me who has been on ( or sailing next January ) the 1st segment of the QE2 world cruise from NYC to California, if in the GRILLS you are permitted to pick your stateroom number at the time of booking - or is it always based on a guarantee only?

Segments are guarantee only; only full world cruisers get to pick their cabin. It gets way too complicated otherwise (even in these days of computers).

I booked a Princess Grill room for the April 2007 QE2 crossing. When I booked last year I was told that I would have a guaranteed room. That was fine with me, as the two other times I've booked a segment of the World Cruise I've received a rather nice upgrade!

Consequently stateroom assignments are made first for the full world cruisers before the other cabin assignments can be determined (which would be later in the booking/reservation cycle).

I have been able to get cabin assignments in Grill Class for QM2 world segments because the space is held in my various groups.
