Avalonpf Posted April 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2006 I'm cruising May 7th for 7 days on the Carnival Victory. I want to go golfing at one of our stops. We are stopping at: Costa Maya, Mexico Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Ocho Rios, Jamaica Has anyone ever golfed at one of these destinations? I heard it costs a lot! I also heard that Hyatt Brittania Golf in the Cayman Islands is a bad course. Is this true??? Any info on golfing would be great! I really want to play during my trip! mrdood Posted April 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Now this may be a hard concept for you especially if you have been dranking... Even though you are going on a Carnival cruise, Cruise Critic has other forums for discussing ports and clothing and other topics that should be used instead of this one: Ports: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 Money saving: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=71 Family cruising - how to get my brother to smuggle and buy booze: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49 and I am sure there is a forum for families that get kicked off their cruise for underage drinking and other bad behavior, but I can't find it right now... Have a great cruise!

Eliot Ness Posted April 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2006 *****? thanks i guess The first link he provided is the Ports of Call forum where you can do a search for "golf" at each port you are interested in. I didn't get any hits for Costa Maya (except for golf cart rentals) but here is what I found for your other two ports: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=3134263 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=3134276 John

jakesplace Posted April 19, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2006 Avalonpf, I won't tell your to go to look somewhere else.. I have the golf info your looking for. Skip golfing in Grand cayman.... its horrible, they never recovered from Hurricane Ivan. the Club house was a tent when we were there in sept 05. Jamaica---is a good plae to golf...has tight fairways and little room for error. Caddies are with you, helping you with yardage, reading greens, finding lost balls, and cleaning your clubs...you will ride the cart and they run beside it. this course is elevated and quite hilly...good place to play.. Clubhouse ahs great views, but is expensive on merchandise. Costa Maya--- does not have a golf , but if by chance you go to cozumel they have a great course... not sure if it is open.. but it is my favorite cruise golf course. I guess I won't be golfing in the Grand Cayman. Your talking about The Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Course in Ocho Rios, Jamaica right? It's $140 for everything except clubs/golf balls/shoes/tees etc? I looked at some pictures of it and it looks amazing! Caddie goes with you? lol, that will be a laugh. I never had a caddie before.
