Comment on a particular Tour..Visby

Cycle Visby

 

Assuming that this particular tour is offered for our cruise and we are considering it. Has anyone out here got any comments or feedback about it...

We were there 3 years ago and, as usual, did not take the ship excursion. It is quite a small place and very attractive. It was a Sunday and we saw 2 or 3 walking tours with an English and German guide. I think that this is your best bet, or get a map and just walk around on your own.

I would "ditto" that recommendation. Visby is small and charming. Very walkable by yourself or rent a bike on your own. Have fun!

My wife and I considered Visby one of the highlights of our Baltic Cruise 3 years ago. Just walk around --- you'll love it.

I too did Visby on my own and had one of the most wonderful travel experiences ever there. I passed a lovely, simple looking church and decided to go in and explore. The choir happened to be in the midst of rehearsal so I took a seat in the back pew to listen for a few minutes. Well, the beautiful and stirring music filled the chapel as well as all my senses and I could not tear myself away for over an hour. I was the only spectator to this extraordinary concert and to this day, twelve years later, I recall it with immense fondness and gratitude.

We usually DIY unless there isa particular tour which will give us something different. At this stage we'll just plan to hire our own cycles I think.
