cruiseluvinfam Posted April 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2006 My family and I are planning on renting a Jeep for the day while we are in Aruba and I was just wondering what the gas prices are like down there. Gas prices are on the rise here at home and it was just something random I'd been thinking about. If anyone has recently returned from Aruba and cares to pass along the info it'd be much appreciated. :D
barbados Posted April 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2006 I was there last month and premium gas was about US$6.00 a gallon, as I remember. The next week I spent three days in Caracus, Venezuela and gas was US$.15 a gallon (yes, that's fifteen cents!). Remember, Aruba is a very small island. You could fill up the tank and probably drive completely around the island 40 times before you needed to refill. No worries there, yes? -b-
cruiseluvinfam Posted April 22, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted April 22, 2006 Thanks for the reply,Barbados. I was more curious than concerned about the price. I really appreciate the info.
Murphy Posted April 22, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2006 Be careful! The gas prices are/were quoted in the local currency, Florins and are priced by the liter, not gallon. So prices can be confusing! We were there about 6 years ago and ended up putting $50 of gas in the car when we didn't realize this!
