What a wonderful event... It must have been great standing there aboard QM2, watching QE2 sail past.

 

In situations where the two ships are together, I'm never sure whether I'd rather be aboard my favorite ship (QE2), or one of my other favorite ships (QM2) looking at my favorite :) .

I took some shots of a fireboat escorting us out of the upper bay in New York, and remembered a posting you did last year where, I believe some members of the Steamship Society rent (?) the boat and participate in some events like the maiden Brooklyn departure.

 

I am going to post the image on the Live from ... thread later today and would appreciate if you could identify the boat and crowd on it. It was funny at one point, because another fire boat ended up drenching them at one point.
