ldadar Posted April 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2006 I'm sure this has been posted before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. I watched the first part of Gentleman Prefer Blondes last night. I had no idea it took place on a transatlantic crossing. What's your favorite cruise movie? katwmon Posted April 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2006 Gentleman Prefer Blondes But I LOVE IT.. Also love the "I Love Lucy" Episode when they go on a cruise and Lucy gets stuck in the Porthole!!!
skybuffalo Posted April 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2006 My favorite is probably a bit off the regular track but it is "Boat Trip" with Cuba Gooding, Jr. Ron
Jeanie821 Posted April 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2006 but my favorite "almost-cruise" movie is Christmas with the Kranks.
katwmon Posted April 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2006 but my favorite "almost-cruise" movie is Christmas with the Kranks. Oh Yeah, Fantastic!!! I plan on doing a holiday cruise, once my daughter no longer "believes" in Santa. I can't imagine trying to hide Santa presents in our luggage. I think it will be a no present (cruise is our present) year that year!
Golf18aday Posted April 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2006 Without any doubt mine has to be 'An Affair to Remember'
JoanP Posted April 30, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Out To Sea with Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and lots of other great movie stars, including Brent Spiner of Star Trek fame.
smoothdancer Posted May 2, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 2, 2006 I am with you... Out To Sea is one of my favorites. My husband and I compete in ballroom dance, and when I see the scene of Walter M. doing the Rumba I laugh uncontrollably!
barbarah33 Posted May 2, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2006 Any movie with a cruise ship is a good one. Yes, I know it end badly but I do love Titanic.

iyl Posted May 9, 2006 #11 Share Posted May 9, 2006 I love "After the Sunset", not exactly a cruise movie but it most of the movie is shot in Nassau, so I think of cruising when I see it.

2CutiesCruisin Posted July 25, 2006 #15 Share Posted July 25, 2006 Cocktail !!! It is not really a "cruise movie" per say - but a lot of it takes place in the Carribean. For some reason it always gets me "in the mood" for a Carribean Cruise :) Check it out - it stars Tom Cruise - before he was a weird ego centric maniac who got too famous for his own self! Kindlychap Posted August 4, 2006 #17 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Whilst Titanic is a load of twaddle, A Night to Remember is a good film. And when you have watched both, you'll realise how much Cameron copied from the earlier film!
Patinthehat Posted August 6, 2006 #18 Share Posted August 6, 2006 I always watch Titanic and The Terminal before I cruise. I know The Terminal doesn't take place on a ship, but whenever I sail, we fly, and I love airports, so I love that flick. I have got to watch Christmas with the Kranks again. I remember it being alright. Pat

NJDragonLady Posted August 23, 2006 #22 Share Posted August 23, 2006 Okay, I'm a bit of a sick monkey, but I have always loved the original Poseidon Adventure.
chadbt Posted September 4, 2006 #23 Share Posted September 4, 2006 "Bitter Moon" could have been, and should have been a much better movie. Big name director, Polanski, Starring Hugh Grant and a very good supporting cast, set on a cruise ship, but what a loser of a movie. This review from a guy who actually enjoyed (but didn't understand) "Eraserhead"
marinearchit Posted September 4, 2006 #24 Share Posted September 4, 2006 The enw Poseidon and the 72' version. Disaster movies, but they are good movies.
