August cruise

Anyone been on a cruise the last week of August? They say it's "the heart of hurricane season....considering the easter Caribbean, with two kids. Would we be better off to leave it until the winter?

We are going on the Valor Aug 20, and I am not worried. The only other cruise we have been on was Aug 2003 and we did not have any weather related problems.
