luggage tags....

Hi,

I'm cruising on ncl spirit july 2 out of nyc. I booked through a onlne TA. they sent me my e- docs today and in it it says I will get luggage tags at arrival at pier. My last cruise ("04 on carnival out of nyc also with online TA, )they sent me my tags via snail mail which I attached prior to cruise.On the last cruise a porter took our luggage as we exited the limo. How will that work this time? I'm assuming I will get my tags when we check in-- should I just tag luggage at home ???

I would definitely put some type of tag on my luggage before arriving at the pier. Put your name, address, cabin number etc on it. You could also call the cruise line and ask them to send you some ASAP. I know how the stevedors are, they just snatch up your luggage and are gone......after they get their tip of course!! And anyway, who wants to stand at the pier writing out 3 or 4 luggage tags.....jean:cool:

If you are concerned about making sure your bags are tagged, check your

documents. I know that Celebrity includes a copy of the tag in their

documentation. I filled in our name, etc., scanned it, then copied it several

times onto a page, which I then had laminated. I cut the individual tags, punched a hole in

the corner and attached them with elastic bands as we left the hotel. Same

could be done after claiming bags at the airport if same day arrival. If the

docs don't have a tag, it is easy enough to make up one with all your info

and do the same thing. In this case, make sure to also tag them with the

cruise line tags on arrival at shipside and leave the homemade one as backup.
