Gold panning on your own @ juneau, sitka,ketchikan????

I want to pan for gold but not neccessarily with a tour excursion. We have some time in Juneau, sitka and ketchikan. Is there any gold panning under a couple hourse I can do. I'll be there in May

If you're in shape for a bit of an uphill hike, you can pan on your own at Gold Creek in Juneau. Just ask anyone for directions. It's a very nice hike through downtown Juneau that will take you to one of the major, former mining hubs.

 

You'll need your own pan 'n stuff.

Don't think so, as there really isn't anyplace to rent it. You can buy some gear in town and it's not too expensive.
