book directly with celebrity?

any advantage to booking directly with celebrity. looking at mediterranean with air from LAX. anyone have problems with celebrity bookings when going thru the cruiseline? thanks

Hi jdechter, we booked the Mediterranean Cruise we are taking in October with Celebrity directly and never had a problem..Even after we had made final payment they happily charge back to the CC when the price dropped.

We opted to purchase our own air transportation and saved a few hundred dollars per person.. Plus I wanted to fly out of LAX (I got a direct flight to London and then a 2 hour flight to barcelona) and I wanted to return to (bur)Bob Hope since we live in the valley.

We are planning extra days in Europe and wanted to set air up ourself.

 

You can book your airline with Celebrity and if you have cruised with them before you can try and specify flights you want at no charge but if this will be your first time with them there is a 50 dollars service charge I believe.

 

Personally I wanted to save the money.
