Between ORLANDO & Port Canaveral

I see its been awhile since your post -not sure if you still need the info or not. Once you head east on the Beachline you won't find anything until you get all the way to I-95. From what I've seen of those hotels on I-95 you probably want to go all the way in to the port. There isn't a whole lot between 95 and the beach. Staying near OIA isn't really in the Disney trap, you'd be OK near the airport. Just some food for thought - Ron Jons Cape Caribe resort is right there near the port. They have some sort of offer for a night or two when you come back from the cruise at a really decent price. Of course its a "vacation ownership" package so it would require the 1 hour talk. We did the tour and actualy are going to use our free night this week. Great facility, but maybe not worth the hassle as a way to end your vacation :)
