kellanderson Posted May 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2006 Hi- I love to cruise but am looking at St. Lucia for 8-10 days for my honeymoon...We have it narrowed down to Sandals Grande and Ti Kaye. Has anyone been to either, both? Comparisions. We might even do a half and half trip. I keep getting mixed reviewson Sandals, their food, and and overall decrease in quality from several sources such as TripAdvisor, the Knot and the two TA's. I want out honeymoon to be amazing. As for Ti Kaye I know about the security incident and that they have beefed up security- but which would you chose and why?
kates70 Posted May 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2006 Just recently visited Ti Kaye Village in March 06 - for the day. After reading reviews, we expected something a bit different. The snorkeling was only fair, but the beach itself was nice. The stairs leading up to the resort are tough! The taxi ride from the cruise port was $80 US round trip . . . although the first quote was $125. I took almost 1/2 hour to get the cheaper rate. Overall the day was just average. Average snorkeling, and an okay meal at the restaurant. Service was good, and the staff were very friendly. If you go, make sure you arrange a time for the taxi driver to come back. And give yourself extra time ... our taxi driver was 1/2 hour later than expected. St. Lucia was a beautiful country, but we did not enjoy the overly agressive tactics at the cruise pier. grfg8r Posted June 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2006 Been to SLU 3x. We like staying at Sandals La Toc. Haven't had any problems there w/ anything. Try the Honeymoon suite w/ private plunge pool.
