Formal Nights?

We are going to the Eastern Caribbean on the Spirit in August

This is a 8 day cruise. We know that Captain's Night is an optional formal night and there is only one designated optional formal night on a 7 day cruise. Since this is an 8 day will there be another optional formal night?

Also, those who have cruised recently what did people wear on optional formal night? Thank you for your help.

On my 10-day Spirit cruise back in February, there were two optional formal nights and I would estimate that 25-35% of the pax wore dressier clothes (mostly dark suits for men, some tuxes, mostly cocktail dresses for women, some gowns). But even on the "resort casual" nights, many people opted to dress up. That's the beauty of Freestyle - it's your choice. The photographer is set up on quite a few nights, not just the formal nights, so you might actually find much shorter lines on the non-formal nights if you're looking for a nice portrait.

Bottom line - formal is optional. Most people stick with the resort casual, but a significant number do dress up.
