Ok....we're ready.....

Recommended Posts

Let's have it.....We want all the information that we can get on the Legend and Spirit Class. Good.....bad......do's...don'ts....we want it all!! .

We have never been on a Spirit Class - so that will be exciting and new. But since we are just beginning our research we do not know how the Legend differs from the Pride, Glory, Destiny and Triumph. I know that you guys are a wealth of information - so I decided to start here.

Yesterday we booked the "exotic western" which is Panama, Costa Rica and Belize - so if you have info on any of those ports we'll take that too ;)! We want to plan carefully so that we do not miss anything.

We have booked our 2nd aft cabin :D . So if you have information or pictures for cabin 8277 - please share that too.

I guess that's it - for now :o . Thanks!

Take the first elevators you come to from your cabin and going down will be right in front of the main dining room entrance. Up one (Or the stairs) and you will come right to the buffet area and aft pool!

Thanks! That's one of the reason that I like the aft cabins. We always end up hanging out around the aft pool/bar and it is so convenient to run up or down the stairs. Waaaaayyyyy too convenient to the icecream...lol

We just returned from the Valor. In Belize we went cavetubing-a really neat tip with Yhonny at cave-tubing.com. He is really funny and we got to do two caves instead of the one that all other trips do. It was a very enjoyable trip.:)

The primary difference is the layout of the ship. The main feature of the Spirit class ships are Promenade Deck 2 and Atlantic Deck 3. This area contains the dining room (only one main dining room), main lobby, pursers desk, casino, shopping, photo gallery, etc. Spirit class ships also have many more balconies than OV cabins. OV cabins are on Riviera (Deck 1) and the Obstructed OV on Main (Deck 4). On Lido, the two main pools are back to back and one can be enclosed. There is an adult pool aft on Lido.

We took this itinerary in March 2005 and loved it. Our next trip on the Legend is March 2007.

Enjoy.:D

The Pride is a "Destiny-class" ship. The Legend is a "Spirit-class" ship.

One of the features I LOVE about the Spirit-class ships is that the main pool on the Lido deck has a shallow wading area around it. It's sooooo relaxing to sit in just a few inches of water & relax on a hot fun day at sea:-)

I also like the fact that the slide on the Spirit-class ships is located more towards the aft of the ship rather than incorporated with the main pool.

The Spirit-class ships also have a very nice lobby bar. It's a circular bar that has elevated live entertainment within the circle playing soft music. It's a great place to stop for a pre-dinner cocktail.

Spirit-class ships (IMHO) tend to be more "upscale" than than any previous class.

Enjoy!

The Pride is NOT a Destiny class ship, it's a Spirit class ship. I've been on Spirit, I've been on Pride and they are exactly alike. The Spirit class ships are all 88,500 tonnage.

Spirit

Pride

Legend

Miracle

Destiny class ships are:

Destiny

Triumph

Victory

Check the Carnival Website under Funships, then check the ship highlights to see the statistics.

Thanks so much for the insights!

So, on the Legend you don't have the problem of having to go up or down several floors to get around the kitchens and dining rooms? That has been frustrating on our other cruises.....a true case of you can't get there from here...lol

An adult pool will be new for us too. Although there are not many kids that cruise in February....they always seem to be in the pool and hot tub!

I'm also thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the itinerary. We are really looking forward to it. :D Can you recommend any excursions or activities?

Thanks again!

The Pride and the Legend are the same class ships which is the Spirit class. The layout will be the same on both, only the decor is different.

Well....it looks like I have been on a Spirit class ship after all!! :o

Thanks to Stacy and Tim who happened to have posted the info below in another thread - it does shows that the Pride and the Legend to be identical in size and capacity.

We loved the Pride - so now I am REALLY excited about the Legend.

Thanks for setting me straight! ;)
