Smith's Laua (Kauai) v. Maui Lauas???

Has anyone been to the Smith's Family Garden Laua on Kauai? This is run by same people that operate the Fern Grotto and river cruise. It looks nice. ($65 per person before 10% AAA Discount).

Yet, I hear quite a lot about the Paradise Cove, Sheraton, and Old Lahina Luaus on Maui. They can vary from terrible to teriffic, as can anything.

 

Anyone have any preference between Kauai and Maui lauas? Thanks.

No real bad reviews of this luau here but again, not many people here have been there, I suspect.

We were there last year and loved it. The grounds are fantastic (get there early) and they take you on a tour before dinner. Food was good and very efficient. After dinner show was great. Without a doubt the best in the islands.

 

Old Mrs. Smith was there too. I have a pic of her and DW if I know how to upload :mad: she was a wonderful lady and greeted everyone.

We have been to both the Smith & Old Lahina Luau's, and others. No comparison, Old Lahaina is the best of these two. Much nicer facilities at Old Lahaina, the food is comparable as I remember (it has been about 5 years since we went to Smith’s). The location of Old Lahina is near the water vs. inland at Smith’s. The only other one that I would recommend would be the PCC on Oahu because it has the best show of any Luau we have been to.
