Ideas for countdown till your cruise parties?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Does anybody ever have parties or get togethers with your cruise group to count down the time left till you all sail away? Our group is thinking of starting a monthly get together for this. Of course the

"Kiss On The Lips" will be flowing from the blender but any other ideas would be appreciated?:p

That's a great idea if you have enough people local (that don't meet up otherwise). Most of these CC groups are widely dispersed: even with Texans and a Texas cruise we have people in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio... too far to get together routinely. Now if you change that silly kiss rule, you might get better attendance. :D

That drink does sound awfully good... sweet, but tasty (no pun intended). :D Must have been a female bartender to assume the recipe should be so sweet! :p

We cruised with a group of 12 a couple of years back. We had a pre-cruise party about 3 weeks before the cruise. I gave everyone their cruise documents and small gift for everyone. We then had a post cruise party where my DH had puit together a great DVD for everyone.

We have a local Dallas/Ft Worth CC group of cruisers that meet every 3 or months. Helps pass the time. Plus some of our groups get together for weekends in New Orleans, Kansas City, etc. Great way to meet new people & discuss our common interest of cruising.

That's a great idea if you have a local group. I think it would help the time pass more quickly if you have events to look forward to leading up to the cruise.

And I love the idea of the post-cruise party and DVD! It would help alleviate the PCD a little bit!

One of our group of 24 has planned a pig roast next month as a meet-and-greet prior to our September cruise to Hawaii. We are a diverse group and do not all know each other yet. Sadly, the couples from Scotland and Alberta coming on the cruise will not be able to attend!

When we did a group cruise with 10 single friends, we hosted a pre-cruise party a month or so before. We did a tropical theme with decorations, tableware, tablecloth, etc. Only a couple of us had cruised before so we also used that time to go over any last minute questions, discuss excursions, etc. It was a lot of fun and it gave us a chance to get to know everyone a little better since we were all part of a large social organization and didn't necessarily know each other real well. But, by the time the cruise was over we were great friends!

COunt me in on this group!!! It's great... many of us get together several times a year, and cruise once or twice (sometimes 3 times) together a year... it's great to meet on land somewhere!!! We have created such great friendships over the years, and continue to gain more.

I would suggest you move it around. Like Brenda said, we have met in Dallas, New Orleans, Myrtle Beach, Kansas City, Raleigh, etc. People travel from all over the country!!

We brought home our cabin decorations (provided by the casino) and a gadzillion umbrellas from our drinks. We play the CD of photos provided by Nelda of Cozumel Tours of the fantastic excursion we had with her. We also play a CD of photos from various cruises we've taken since 1985.

We use the Carnival cocktail book, the cookbooks, and somebody handy in the kitchen to make cruise food, too.

It's FUN!...and then we go and get on a Fun Ship!
