About the Tahitian Princess Casino...we love to play Black Jack.

How many tables? Are they busy..crowded....hard to get a seat?

Do you know if the casino is open while cruising around the Hawaiian Islands?

Wish I could remember how many black jack tables there were, but I just don't. One or possibly two, maybe. The TP casino is just sooooooooo small, I know it was almost impossible to walk around when it was busy. It was elbow to elbow. I don't have the exact size of the room, but I mean it was tiny tiny. Maybe 1/4th the size of the Sun Class ship casinos or less.

 

As for Hawaii, I know that unless the ship is out in international waters the casino must remain closed. You might get some more direct answers here from someone that has sailed the Hawaii to Papette itinerary as we just sailed the FP Itinerary last time. And I can not remember, when we sailed the B2B Hawaii/Papeete/Hawaii cruise several years ago just when it was open on the old Crown Princess.

Looking at virtualtoursusa.com they have a shot of the Pacific Princess casino (same size ship), and it is small, no doubt about it.

 

I've been looking around, too, as I'll be on the "new" Royal next year and was curious just what they have onboard.

 

Last year I was disappointed in the Sea Princess casino, very low key and not that great. Actually seemed like it was kind of an after thought in a very underused area of the ship.

The Sea Princess used to have that entire room the casino, but it was modified to add the tables for board games and reading so that the game room could be turned into an internet cafe. I agree though, the Sea has a small casino, but it is still twice the size of what we found on the TP.

We just got off the Island Princess and the casino was closed while we were in Hawaiian waters. It has to do with Hawaii state laws.

I was sure that was the correct answer, but it has been a few years since we sailed around Hawaii so I thought it was best to come from someone that had recently been there. I am sure it isn't the answer AndyPanda was looking for, but at least it is a correct answer and he can be prepared.

You're exactly right.... it was NOT what I was looking for.

I like to spend an hour or 2 each night in the casino...enjoy the game, the other passengers, and the crew. As a "regular" in the casino, or any other place, we make a lot of friends(& sometimes a few bucks).

Oh, well.
