Very safe Very clean Near something to do Does not need to be on the beach should be a 3 star Any suggestions? Thank you much Nadine

BlueHerons Posted May 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2006 These are the only one I'd consider based on your criteria: On SOUTH BEACH... The Setai............http://www.setai.com/ (my personal favorite ;) ) The Setai is GORGEOUS!! If only I could figure out how to pay for an extended stay there. The $1,000 per night price tag is so far out of my budget!

True, but the cruise package includes transportation to or from the port or airport. :p
mnsawyer Posted May 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2006 I've read some recent reviews of hotels close to the airport - Blue Lagoon, LaQuinta, etc., - wouldn't be near the beach but you said that wasn't necessary. Also, would assume that airport transfers are included if the hotels are near the airport. I believe some have breakfast as well. Bet prices are much cheaper than downtown or SB. Geema Posted May 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2006 Has anyone stayed at the Springhill Suites Miami Airport South? We're having a problem finding hotels that will accomodate 5 in a room. Is there shopping (last minute items) or dining within walking distance?
motherchic Posted May 21, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted May 21, 2006 I called , i think Expedias, toll free #. Asked about restaurants. The young man i spoke to said that being a "business type hotel" that restaurants would be near by. I dont know about shopping. best way to find out- give them a call, whats in walking distance. There are just two of us so i ended up booking a 1 night at the Hampton, near the Bayside market. Good luck with your search Nadine
Stargateman Posted May 26, 2006 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2006 We stayed at Hyatt Regency in downtown Miami, great hotel, was clean, safe and great location. http://miamiregency.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/
breanne$5 Posted May 28, 2006 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2006 i agree with the hyatt. we got it on priceline for about $140 night. Trip Advisor reviews weren't to good, so i was worried. But the rooms were wonderful, service great, and a great balcony to seat and relax.
motherchic Posted May 28, 2006 Author #11 Share Posted May 28, 2006 Did try the Hyatt, but it was booked for that weekend. I ended up booking the Hampton near Bayside. Glad to have gotten that. Couldnt believe how so many places were already booked up
Jeanie821 Posted May 28, 2006 #12 Share Posted May 28, 2006 Try Days Inn Miami Airport North. It's reasonable and clean.
crisndeefromde Posted May 29, 2006 #13 Share Posted May 29, 2006 try the Mutiny in Coconut Grove. Many nice places that are very reasonable to eat at and shop at. A very safe area too.
betcat Posted May 29, 2006 #14 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Most (no all) in the Blue Lagoon area are newer and a safer area. We did Amerisuites in Blue Lagoon and it was great and felt safe. They had airport shuttle and a good breakfast. Big rooms. There were 5 of us.

betcat Posted May 29, 2006 #16 Share Posted May 29, 2006 I think it is south of the Miami airport. Dont know the Miami area very good. Remember it was like a 5 min drive from the airport. I know someone else has said they also like the Hampton Inn blue lagoon. It is someplace that the hotel chains are building newer hotels.
snoopy_leogirl Posted May 30, 2006 #17 Share Posted May 30, 2006 Blue Lagoon Drive is a 5 minute drive from Miami International Airport. Very close, most hotels in that area have a shuttle for free that runs every 1/2 hour I think. We stay at the Hilton on Blue Lagoon Drive and we will be staying there for 3 nights post-cruise next month. I love this hotel, its extremely clean and very classy, lots of stuff nearby. Malls, downtown, restaurants, Walgreens etc.
