pxgrant Posted May 19, 2006 #26 Share Posted May 19, 2006 Thanks so much - we're sailing on FOS in 10/07 and can't wait. I do have a quick ? - are there self service laundry machines for guests on board - the Caribbean Princess had them and it saved a hassle of dirty laundry going home. If they don't - do they have a laundry service on board? Thanks. Peggy, Norwood MA
negc Posted May 21, 2006 #27 Share Posted May 21, 2006 None of RCI's ships have self-service laundries, but the laundry and dry cleaning service provided on board is reasonable and on par with what we are used to paying at home.:) Too much to do onboard Freedom to spend the time to do laundry on board.LOL
pxgrant Posted May 23, 2006 #28 Share Posted May 23, 2006 Thanks so much for your response. I don't mind spending money on laundry service. You are so right about wasting time on vacation w/laundry. LOL
madforcruising Posted May 23, 2006 #29 Share Posted May 23, 2006 I still don't think that the question about the balconies opening is answered--will all cabin stewards be able to open the balconies if requested by adjoining family members who wish to have them open. We will have 5 adjoining cabins and wish to know that in advance. Well I doubt that this question will ever be answered undoubtly. Yes the dividers are meant to be opened. They are sliding doors and the tool needed to unlock them has to be triangle shaped. Having the tool and unlock the door wouldn´t probably be the big problem for the cabin steward. The big question is if they will be allowed to do it. I guess the final word on this would be on the Captain. I can see him allowing it as well as not. And I also can see that one Captain may allow it while another one don´t. As well as the same Captain allowing it at one time and not at others. I somehow doubt you will find out in advance as even if others report here it was done for them it might be denied at your sailing.

You are probably right--I will ask when I get there(or not--maybe having my parents and in-laws outside my balcony door would not give us the privacy we want in our room!)
