motherchic Posted May 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Would like to be near the bayside market for our 1 day pre-cruise. Many hotels are already booked for next Feb. I tried the Holiday Inn Port of Miami - ALL BOOKED Found several hotels near the airport-but then you have to taxi.... Any ideas greatly appreciated. I have had sticker shock today. Thank you nadine
Kylie Posted May 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2006 We got the Hyatt through Priceline and really enjoyed the convenience to Bayside. Took the Metromover which is actually connected to the Hyatt over to Bayside. We used taxis to get from the airport and to the pier but not that expensive. signman Posted May 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Try the Intercontinental, but if you're there during Super Bowl week, forget it.

Thank you nadine Nadine, the boat show books out and blocks 21 hotels downtown so you are going to have a bit of a problem finding something near Bayside. Unfortunately, that area is ground zero for the boat show. What about an airport hotel? Normally I would not suggest an airport hotel but they will also provide a shuttle. Also, have you tried booking a boat show room? Go to www.MiamiBoatShow.com and follow the instructions for booking or simply call the hotel of your choice and tell them you want to book a boat show room. BlueHerons Posted May 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Nadine, I just did a quick search and the Hampton Inn downtown/Key Biscayne has hotel rooms starting at $149. Book this hotel and then start bargain shopping. It is a great hotel in a great location not too far from Bayside. Hampton Inn Miami-Downtown/Key Biscayne Area Compare Hotel 2500 Brickell Ave Miami, Florida, United States, 33129 1-305-854-2070 1.69 miles from city center Available From 155.

I never thought when we were arriving, that it was Presidents day weekend ( and that that would be a very busy weekend in Miami ). And, i must admit that i was shocked that so many hotels were already solidly booked ( and pricey ) I booked the Hampton , sounds great for our needs. It will be nice to browse the marketplace. As I always preach " this is a great site" Thank you again Nadine
