Family Reunion Cruise Dilemma

That's really something. Jane's not willing to go along with everyone else sounds pretty selfish to me. If it's just a matter that they don't want to vacation with the others (that could be a possibility from what you've said), she should just say so to allow everyone else to get together. The lack of info re graduation date (I can't believe they can't get that info a year ahead), the refusal to go a shorter distance, etc. sounds like a lot of excuses. Maybe Jane doesn't want to be on a cruise at all or doesn't want to cruise with her in-laws (or in-law's in-laws).

I strongly feel cruising vacations and kids go together so that statement about the disapproval doesn't fly either. If you let kids know how to behave and they do so, those tsk-tskers can go fly a kite for all I care.

I do want to correct one thing, though. The casinos on the Hawaiian cruises are open on the way to Hawaii and the way back to the west coast, just not the days within the state of Hawaii. The one exception is the Pride Of...ships that do not have a casino, but then they don't leave Hawaii anyway.

Thanks for the clarification Cruisin'. I finally pried it out of Jane that she just doesn't want to do a cruise at all. 2 things irk me about that: 1) we've been talking about it for about a year and we're just finding this out now???? and 2) the reason for this trip is for the grandparents and she's not willing to do it for them???? She's never been on a cruise so she can't really make a judgement call. ALL the kids would have a blast and there is so much to do for everyone that I don't think anyone would be bored.

Also, we know when nephew's graduation is, we just don't know when he'll be deployed for active duty. Also, he's on the crewing team and every year they've made it to the national championships (next weekend for this year by the way) which we won't know until January or February. So, that's why they have to wait to make plans.

But, no biggie...we have our cruise. So, anyone who wants to come with us is welcome! That includes you guys, too :D NCL has some pretty good prices going for the Dawn the week of June 16th of next year.
