Customs Policy Question

I am traveling from the U.S. to Puerto Rico and was wondering if anyone could tell me the policy on taking fresh flowers through customs? :confused:

if anyone knows, an answer would be greatly appreciated. :)

--If I can't carry the flowers through customs, is there somewhere in San Juan I could purchase the flowers beforehand @ a resonable price?

I'm no expert, but I can't imagine ANY vegetation going into another country.

Puerto Rico is a US territory so, if you are flying, you do not go through customs between mainland US and Puerto Rico. However, if you are cruising, I do not believe that flowers would be allowed off at any port.

 

San Juan is a large city so there should be many places to buy flowers there.

As the ship would be a foreign entity, you can not take flowers off into San Juan, but a flight direct from the mainland US would not be a problem.

Actually, I would check to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. I know that they require USDA checks coming back from San Juan to the mainland - no fruits,vegetables, plants, etc. are allowed.

Puerto Rico isn't another country. It's a US territory. As for the flowers, I don't think you'd have a problem getting them into PR... but you might have trouble getting them onboard. I'd contact Royal Caribbean and ask what thier procedures are. Hope you have a great cruise!
