Diamond Upgrade Status as a perk?

Has anyone ever been offered an upgrade to diamond status for future bookings while on a cruise?

No, and I highly doubt RCI ever will consider that.

 

We were told on FOS last weekend that there are over 10Million C&A members and 3000 Diamond Plus members.

 

I think their loyalty program is working just fine :).

Don't believe so, boy if they started that, there would be a riot.

They modified back several years ago instead of 1 cruise = 1 credit no matter now long the cruise was and if you booked a suite.

Now as you know can get 2 credits for more than 7 day cruise, and/or suite.

This really advances your status pretty quick.

IMHO, they will eventually have to create more categories and/or perks. I already had 10+ cruises when they created Diamond. Back then, except for a few discounts, biggest perk was priorty embarkation ahead of anyone. When I would cruise, there probably wasn't more than 10 Diamond members sailing. Now, they've created Diamond Plus and similiar situation, the early Diamond members are now Diamond Plus. Extra Perks are better now though.

Interesting to see where they go from here. As with Freedom, they have a Diamond and a Concerige lounge.
