Freedom pre inagural - internet access / cell phone?

On the TA cruises that are happening was internet access free or was there a charge for it? I need to have some kind of contact in case of any emergencies but really don't want to bring my laptop for 2 days

 

Also did anyone have any luck with cell phone usage, was it working?

The internet was free, but extremely slow. I never actually got to the screen with my e-mail.

 

My cell phone (cingular) worked perfectly the entire time.

Internet is free and was sloooowwwwwww...

 

Cingular worked great but was up and down throughout the 2 days.

I carry my wireless laptop. Do you know if they had their wireless system up and running? That's usually must faster.

Wireless is up and running. Many people were using it.

We have Sprint and it worked just fine. We had some trouble when we left port - there was storm and we went into roaming (forgot our charger so our phones went dead).
