I know this is an old thread, but please don't lollygag around at the end of your cruise, you could be holding up a bride who is wanting to have time to get in her wedding dress without being rushed. My wedding is coming up on August 3. We will be getting married on embarkation because we are having several nonsailing guests and the fact is that we can not get on the ship until you get off and Homeland Security clears it. I have read many threads in the wedding forum about people not getting of the dang ship so by the time they got on the bride had 15 minutes to get ready....it's just rude to extend your vacation at somebody else's expense.

Amazing how much of a hurry people are to get on the ship. I suspect the same folks are the ones straining at the bit to get off. Go figure.

If you want to wait, then you have to put the bags out the night before. The self-assist passengers are off of the ship first and are given a specific time window.

 

I stayed on my last cruise until they were practically begging us to get off. That was about 10:30 AM on the Valor (on Christmas Day).

 

 

We did self assist and got off after 10. They don't care when self assist get off as long as you wait at least until your deck is called. It's not like they'll make you stay if you aren't off on time ;). Unfortunately.
