bluecrush Posted May 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2006 has anyone been to norway, as i have just returned and it was great. Was wondering who else has been and on what crusie?
KeystoneCruiser Posted May 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Bluecrush: I believe you are mistaken. This board is about Norweigan Cruise Line, not the country of Norway. I don't believe that even the Dream, NCL's ship in the Baltic Sea stops in Norway. There was a ship in the NCL fleet called the "Norway" but she has been decommissioned and will no longer be a cruise ship. I also believe that you tried this before a few weeks ago and that thread was moved to "other cruise lines" and posters told you that this board was not about the ship you were on. There is no "VanGogh" in the NCL fleet.
packercruising Posted May 29, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Indeed, I came here thinking it would be a discussion of he SS Norway, which was my first cruise experience in 1998. Sorry to see that it is being scrapped.

Saga Ruby Posted May 29, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Hello, Bluecrush. I sailed on Saga Cruises last June to the western side of Norway, visited Stavanger, Bergen, Geirangerfjord, North Cape (Nordkapp), then on to Svalbard and Longyearbyen and Ny Alesund, then back down to Tromso and Trondheim, although I'm quoting these ports out of sequence. It was a 15-day cruise. This itinerary was a magical cruise which filled my memory with beautiful and exciting adventures. Where did you visit and what did you see? For our cruise, the Arctic Circle was halfway to our destination of the icepack of the North Pole. Watching the Midnight Sun drop to the rim of the globe, travel along the horizon's edge, then go back up into the sky was fascinating. I'm sure you had a glorious time. Tell me where you went.
